How do I add a footnote?

Wrap the footnote text in double parentheses. For example: This is a sentence ((and this is your footnote)). Make sure there is a space before the opening parentheses. The plugin handles numbering, linking and the reference list automatically.

Can I change the (( )) syntax?

Yes. Open the Advanced tab in the plugin settings and set your own custom opening and closing delimiters.

Can I style the footnotes

Yes. The reference list is standard markup you can target with CSS.

Can I disable footnotes on specific pages or categories?

Yes. The Suppress tab hides footnotes on the home page, archives, search, feeds and previews; the Advanced tab lets you exclude specific post categories or individual URLS.

What is the difference between Free and PRO?

The free plugin includes all core fottnotes features. Pro adds premium tolltip styles, the bibliography manager, reference importing, priority support and more. See the Free and Pro comparison table above.
